Founder Bishop

Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius
H.G. Dr. Stephanos Mar Theodosius was born on 2nd October 1924 as the fifth child of Mr. Kurian and Mrs. Mariamma of Kayyalathu family at Pathamuttam, Kotayam, Kerala. He was ordained as deacon and priest by H.H. Geevarghese II, the Catholicose. He started his humanitarian services from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh as the parish priest in 1952. He obtained his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Jabalpur University. Later he went abroad and acquired his degrees of B.D. and STM in Theology from the United States. He also served as vicar of Bombay, Malaysia, Singapore, Bahrain and many other parishes at different times. He was appointed as the Director of St. Thomas Orthodox Church Mission, Bhilai in 1972. Later he was consecrated as a Bishop in 1975 at Niranam Valiyapally and was given the charge of the Madras Diocese in 1975. In 1979 he was ordained as the first Metropolitan of the Diocese of Calcutta. In recognition of his meritorious services to the Church, he was bestowed with the dignity of Doctor of Divinity by General Theological Seminary, New York in 1990.

H.G. Dr. Joseph Mar Dionysius
H. G. Joseph Mar Dionysius Metropolitan, present President, was born on 15th June 1956 as the son of Mr. T. V. Mathai and Mrs. Aleyamma Mathai of Thekkil Kandathil family in Valanjavattom, Thiruvalla, Kerala. He is a member of St. Mary's Orthodox Church, Valanjavattom in Niranam Diocese. He became a member of Mount Thabor Ashram on 15th July 1971. He obtained his Master's Degree from Madras University and won the “Chithanass" award and the gold medal in 1981. Later he obtained M. Phil and Ph. D. Degrees from the University of Kerala. He was awarded B.D. degree from the University of Serampore and was ordained deacon in July 1980. He was ordained as a priest on 4th December 1985. He has undergone special training in Christian leadership from the Haggai International Institute, Singapore in 2005. His Grace had been teaching in the Dept. of Zoology at St. Stephen's College, Pathanapuram and had been the Director of the Research Department of Zoology since 2000. His Grace won the “Man of the Year" award from American Biographical Institute in 2003 and St. Berchman's award for the Best University Teacher in 2008. His Grace had ever been active as a guide and mentor in meditation, preaching , research and ecological theology. He was ordained as a Ramban at Parumala on 4th December 2008 and later consecrated as a Bishop on 19th February 2009 and deputed as the Metropolitan of the Diocese of Calcutta. Ever since his appointment as metropolitan and manager of all the Schools of Calcutta Diocese he is effectively leading the institutions with all devotion and distinction.
